How to Run Two WhatsApp Accounts on One Phone With VPhoneGaga

One phone can hold two WhatsApp lives: a work number and a home number, or a public number and a private one. The WhatsApp app itself ties each install to one account. So the second account needs a place to live. The virtual space in VPhoneGaga is one of the cleanest places for it.
This guide shows the full setup: what you need before you start, the clone steps, how to keep alerts on time, and the honest limits. One limit matters most: no tool can clone a second phone number for you.
One honest warning before you clone. The space uses your phone real IMEI and real location, so WhatsApp can tell that both accounts sit on one phone. If one account breaks the rules, the other can be pulled into the same ban. Our VPhoneGaga safety guide sets out the linking risk in full.
What you need before you start
- An Android phone with VPhoneGaga on it. If you do not have it yet, the current build is on our homepage.
- A second phone number that can take an SMS or a call. WhatsApp checks each account by number, clone or not. The number can sit on a second SIM in the same phone. Phones with two SIM slots are a great fit for this. It can also be a number on a phone near you. You only need to read its code once, at setup.
- A few minutes of time. The clone takes a moment, and the sign up takes a few more.
The steps: clone WhatsApp inside VPhoneGaga
- Open VPhoneGaga and let the virtual space load in full. If it stops at 99%, that is a known problem with its own fixes. See our stuck at 99% guide.
- Inside the space, tap the option to add or clone an app. It is the + button on the home screen of the space.
- Find WhatsApp in the list of apps on your phone and pick it. VPhoneGaga makes the clone inside the space. Your main WhatsApp on the phone itself stays as it is.
- Open the cloned WhatsApp from inside the space. It starts fresh and asks you to agree to the terms and pick a language.
- Type your second phone number and ask for the code.
- Type the code when it comes by SMS or by call. If the code does not come, wait for the timer to end and use the call option. First check that you typed the number in the right way.
- Set the name and photo for the new account. You are done. This WhatsApp now lives in full inside the virtual space.
From here the daily use is simple. Your main WhatsApp opens from the app list of your phone, as always. The second one opens when you go into VPhoneGaga first. Two accounts, two chat lists, two sets of files and settings, all apart.
Keep notifications reliable
One catch comes with any virtual space. The battery saver in Android can put VPhoneGaga to sleep. When that happens, the messages of the cloned WhatsApp come only when you open the app. To keep alerts on time, open the Settings of your phone, then Apps, then VPhoneGaga, then Battery, and set it to no limits. The exact words change by phone brand. Also allow alerts for the app. After that, the messages of the second account come like normal. If they slow down again, our VPhoneGaga not working guide has the full check list.
Honest notes before you rely on it
- WhatsApp now has a feature for two accounts. On Android, the official app itself can hold a second account on phones with two SIM slots. If that fits your need, it is the most simple route. VPhoneGaga earns its place when you want the second account fully apart, with its own space and its own storage, or when your setup does not fit the feature in the app.
- Use the official WhatsApp in the clone. The risk to accounts comes from fake or changed WhatsApp apps. VPhoneGaga clones the real app. Keep both apps up to date so all stays in step.
- The clone lives and ends with the space. The chats in the cloned WhatsApp are stored inside VPhoneGaga. If you remove VPhoneGaga, the clone and its chats go with it. Back up the chats from inside WhatsApp first if they matter to you. Our VPhoneGaga safety guide shows what lives where.
Notifications and day to day use
Two things surprise people after the setup works. The first is notifications. Messages to the second account can arrive late, or only when you open the space, because the space rests when your phone rests. One step helps many people: open the space once in a while, and in the battery settings of your phone, let this app run without limits. No setting makes a virtual space behave exactly like a real second phone, so expect some delay on the second account.
The second is checks. WhatsApp can ask the second number to verify again from time to time, and the codes arrive by text or call to that number as normal. Keep the second number active, because a number that dies takes its account checks with it.
